Brief History of YWAM in Dublin
YWAM first launched a work in Dublin in 1983. Wade & Katherine Robertson led a team that focused on youth outreach. They led the first DTS in 1985. In 1987 under the new leadership of Rob Clarke YWAM moved into High Park, on Dublin’s North Side. This large property proved to be an ideal for running training weekends & YWAM Discipleship Training Schools. During this period YWAM developed a number of teams focusing on outreach into Secondary Schools, Children’s Work and Missionary Training. In 2003 the work relocated to the South Side of the city where a number of DTSs were run with a particular focus on radio. In 2008 the work of YWAM in both Northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland were re-organized as one work under the leadership of Jonny Clark.
